Jack Hobbs' relief after fearing the worst for his Leicester City team-mate
Hobbs admitted he feared the worst when Fryatt went down after a collision with Rovers captain Brian Stock in the first half and was treated for seven minutes on the pitch before being immobilised on a spinal board and taken to hospital.
The City centre-back said the players had to put their concern for their colleague to the back of their minds as they refocused on facing Rovers.
Although the news that Fryatt had broken his jaw in two places was bad enough, Hobbs said he was pleased it was not a more serious injury.
However, he added that Fryatt, who is the side's top scorer with 12 goals, will be sorely missed.
"When I first saw him go off I thought it could have been his neck and that was a real concern," said Hobbs.
"If it was his neck or his back then it could have been really serious.
"Fortunately, it is not but his jaw is still broken in two places. That is bad news for all of us because he could be out for six to eight weeks minimum.
"It can be hard but you have to try and refocus back on the game after an incident like that, and try to get on with it, but it is bad news for the club and for Matty himself.
"It is a big blow because everyone knows Matty's ability to knock goals in. He is going to be a massive miss.
"Hopefully, he will be back pretty soon and we all wish him a speedy recovery."
Speaking directly after the game, Hobbs said he thought the challenge by Stock was just an unfortunate accident.
"I saw the tackle and it was quite a heavy collision but, from what I saw, it didn't seem dirty," he said.
"They both seemed to get the ball and it was just unlucky. It just looked heavy, which obviously it must have been to break his jaw. It just looked awkward, but I haven't seen it again."
Fryatt's injury has added to the frustration felt within the City camp after the stalemate against Rovers, and Hobbs admitted it felt like a defeat.
"I thought they came with a game-plan and sat back," he said. "I don't think they tried to win it at all, which made it difficult to prise them open.
"We had one or two chances but not many. Dany N'Guessan and Paul Gallagher both got through but it was just really frustrating.
"We just need to create a bit more and then hopefully we can take a few chances.
"It is weird because it feels like a loss. We battered them and played so much better than them but we failed to get the breakthrough.
"The clean sheet was a positive but it was frustrating not to have won it."
