Inside Football by Rob Tanner: Don't expect Leicester City to splash cash

Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 08:00

"Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson told the Leicester Mercury two weeks ago that he would have to wheel and deal if he was to freshen up his squad.

"Whether that means he will be willing to sell off one of his promising and highly-rated young players, such as Matty Fryatt or Jack Hobbs, remains to be seen.

"However, I expect Pearson will regard any such sales as a last resort and only then if he has a top-quality replacement lined up.

Pearson is more likely to trim his squad of players considered to be surplus, but how much revenue he will be able to raise is questionable."
