Leicester City trio get chance to impress
Midfielders Levi Porter, James Wesolowski and Johnny Hayes are in a 17-man squad for the clash with the Conference North club at the Greene King Stadium.
They were all left behind when the senior squad departed for a five-day training camp in Slovenia and will be looking to put themselves in the shop-window.
Unsettled striker DJ Campbell also stayed in Leicester, but is not included in the squad for the Hinckley trip.
Leicester-born Porter appeared just twice for City last season after recovering from serious knee ligament damage suffered during a Carling Cup tie at Chelsea in October 2007.
Before that, the former Academy star had made 31 League and Cup starts for City.
Wesolowski is under contract at City until 2011, but made just two appearances for manager Nigel Pearson last season before going out on loan to Cheltenham.
The Australian international, beset by injury problems at City, has made 49 starts for the Walkers Stadium club.
Johnny Hayes, brought to City by former manager Martin Allen in July 2007, made just one first-team start against Southampton a month later but has been sidelined by Pearson and spent loan spells last season at Northampton and Cheltenham.
Reserve-team boss Gerry Taggart expects the clash with Hinckley to be a "a pretty fiery occasion."
He said: "They will be looking to put one over on us.
"We've got some good young lads such as Tom Parkes, Cian Bolger and Jorrin John and I've got my fingers crossed for them and, hopefully, they can get in the first team in a couple of years time. It should prove to be a good work-out for not only the youngsters but also for the more experienced players who are not with the first team in Slovenia.
"It will be an opportunity for them to show what they can do and we are looking forward to the game."
