Luke O’Neill remains on the fringes of the first-team picture at Leicester City, but has received enough indicators from manager Nigel Pearson that he has a secure future at the club.

Last season, he featured for the club in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in a 3-0 win at Hartlepool, and has one start already under his belt this term with an appearance in the 2-0 win at Macclesfield in the Carling Cup in August.
