Patched-up Leicester City chase a hat-trick at Doncaster

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson will send out his "walking wounded" and ask them to complete a rapid Yorkshire treble at Doncaster today.

City are up to fourth spot in the Championship after beating both Sheffield clubs in the space of a fortnight, but the City boss knows his resources will be severely tested at the Keepmoat Stadium (3.0)

City were deserved 2-1 winners against Sheffield United on Saturday, but now have four centre-backs sidelined through injury.

Bulgarian international Aleksandar Tunchev has been out with knee problems since the end of August, while Wayne Brown was ruled out before kick-off on Saturday with a lower-back problem and has been joined on the treatment table by Jack Hobbs (dead-leg) and Bruno Berner (calf).

Berner was seconds away from replacing the injured Hobbs at half-time on Saturday. But Berner felt a recurrence of his calf problem in the dressing room.

That forced another reshuffle with Ryan McGivern playing at centre-back and a League debut for Academy graduate Luke O'Neill at left-back.

"It was a testament to the players' adaptability and their focus that we produced the win," said Pearson. "Jack got a dead-leg early in the game which got progressively worse. We had a reshuffle, but then Bruno didn't feel quite right and we had to reshuffle again a minute before we went out."

He added: "Jack (Hobbs) and Michael Morrison played a lot of the season together last year so I was not particularly worried but we did have to reshuffle twice and Ryan McGivern did well (at centre-back).

"We conceded a goal very early in the second half but we ran the game out very well, particularly in the last 10 minutes against a side who asked a few questions of us. The players have dealt with disappointments during the game and got their just rewards."
