Bruno Berner delighted by vital goal for Leicester City against Forest
The Swiss left-back's 68th-opener was the turning point of a tight East Midlands derby with Nottingham Forest.
Berner said he was determined to savour it, especially as his two previous goals this season, against Preston and West Brom, came late on in home defeats.
However, Berner said the victory was not extra special because of the memory of the 5-1 defeat at the City Ground in December, but for the fact that it has cemented City in the play-off places.
"It is a fantastic feeling and we all knew the first goal would be crucial," he said.
"I am delighted with my goal and you could see how our confidence soared immediately after that. But I thought generally we were in control of the whole game.
"Personally, what happened in the first game did not have an affect on me. If we won, there were still just three points up for grabs, not four or five.
"All we wanted was to finish the month on a high. We have done that. We needed a good February to get us back in business and we are back in business. Can we do it again now in March? We are very determined to do so.
"It is a nice thought to think about getting higher. There is still a long way to go.
"We are on a good run of eight games unbeaten with 16 points gained. That is fantastic. But, if there is the opportunity to move even further up, then why not?"
Berner said the difference between the two rivals was their approach, the set-piece delivery of Paul Gallagher, who scored a stunning second from a free-kick, and the fantastic home support.
"I thought we were mentally stronger than Forest," he said.
"We knew it would be a tight game but, from the start, we were a lot stronger mentally.
"Gallagher was absolutely exceptional, top-class. We see that on the training ground.
"His right foot is absolutely fantastic and he proved it again. I am sure more goals will follow.
"Also, we played at home and I think that was the difference.
"At the time they beat us they were on a good run and they were full of confidence.
"This time we were on the run and we beat Scunthorpe a few weeks ago 5-1, and now we have scored another three.
"We had a fantastic crowd behind us and it was so enjoyable to play in the match."
