Robbie Burns realised he had a big future at Leicester City when manager Nigel Pearson drafted him into the first-team squad for the close-season “boot camp” in Slovenia.

It was quite a privilege for the Academy youngster who had signed his first professional contract – a one-year deal – in March this year which coincided with a loan switch to Tranmere Rovers.
