Yann Kermorgant says Leicester City fans have yet to see best of him

Yann Kermorgant has promised Leicester City fans that they are yet to see the best of him.

The French striker has started the last three games for City but admits he is still adjusting to life in English football and is slowly building his confidence.

Kermorgant has partnered Martyn Waghorn in attack and is hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up as he comes to terms with the demands of the Championships and searches for his elusive first goal.

Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare is a fan of the 28-year-old Brittany-born forward and has stated that he has much more to offer the team than he has shown so far.

Kermorgant said: "I work hard in training but I need to have more confidence in myself.

"I have come over from France and I was injured when I first arrived. It was difficult for me to show everyone what I can do.

"Craig has said that because he sees me every day in training and knows what I can do, but it is true I have not shown what I can really do in a game yet.

"I know a goal will change my football because I know everyone is waiting for the first goal."

Kermorgant believes he is suited to English football, but he is still coming to terms with the heavy workload.

Starting with the trip to Blackpool next Saturday, City face seven games in 21 days, but it is the intensity of each game that has really surprised Kermorgant.

"It is different in England," he said. "In France it is more tactical and in England it is more physical and more direct, with the long ball and headers. But I like this type of football.

"The big difference is the number of games. There are a lot in England and, in the Championship, every team can beat everyone and that is good.

"But we have to show spirit in every game and try to win every game, because every fixture is very tough."

Meanwhile, Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido has revealed he would like to extend City defender Tom Parkes's stay at the League Two club until the end of the season.

The Brewers boss has been impressed with the 18-year-old, who joined Burton on a one month loan, and has contacted City to see if that deal can be extended.

"Tom has been superb in the two games he's played and I would really like to have him on board for the rest of the season," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail.

"He plays with great maturity and calmness for a player of his age and he's also a good character. I'm sure he has a very bright future ahead of him."
